The Mail Art Experiment
The Mail Art Experiment is a collaborative mail art project that began at the Crozet post office and grew to include over 40 artists from 12 countries and 16 states. Each piece is based on a page from a stack of beautifully handwritten notes found at a local estate sale. Artists altered the papers with a range of techniques including: collage, watercolor and oil painting, pen and ink, colored pencil, rubber stamping, stitching, printmaking, and digital printing before returning them to Crozet.
The full project can be viewed here.
Exhibited in 2018 at the Crozet Library, Crozet, VA.
